AFCON2017: Rwanda Amavubi completed final training ahead at the Zimpeto Stadium in Maputo
The Rwanda Amavubi have completed their final training session at the Zimpeto Stadium in Maputo, before their opening AFCON 2017 qualification clash tomorrow (Sunday 14 June 2015, 15:00 CAT; 13:00 GMT).
The Amavubi completed on training session in country after arriving in Mozambique on Thursday afternoon. The squad had been in camp since Thursday of last week, including their time in the Kwibuka Commemoration cup last weekend.
Speaking after training today Coach McKinstry said:
"The team have completed a good final session ahead of what will be a very competitive game tomorrow."
"We know Mozambique will be a difficult opponent especially playing in Maputo in front of a strong home crowd."
"Away games in Africa are always difficult, but we are confident that if we can play to our strengths, then we can make a positive start to our AFCON qualification campaign."
AFCON 2017 Qualifiers
The Amavubi face Mozambique this weekend (14 June 2105) in their opening qualification game for AFCON 2017. The game is an away fixture being played in Maputo, Mozambique.

About Coach McKinstry
Coach McKinstry is a UEFA Pro Licensed Football Coach. He is currently Head Coach of the Uganda National Team - the Uganda 'Cranes'.
He was International Manager and Head Coach of the Rwanda National Football Team (2015-16). Within just 17 months he led Rwanda to a number of highs - including their first ever appearance in the knockout stages of a major international tournament (Quarter-finals of CHAN, Jan 2016) and finished runner-up in CECAFA (Dec 2105), being named 'Coach of the Tournament' for his efforts.
He was Head Coach of the Sierra Leone National Men's Football team (2013-14). Within just over a year, he had led Sierra Leone to their highest ever FIFA World and African rankings - 7th in Africa and 50th in the World (August 2014).
